The arrangement of devices, alarm and control lamps in a combination of devices is shown in fig. 1.7.

1 – the tachometer shows the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine. The scale has divisions from 0 to 7, the price of division 0,5. To determine the frequency of rotation of a bent shaft in ^min.-1, it is necessary to increase indications of a tachometer for 1000. A zone of a scale of red color — an operating mode, dangerous to the engine.

2 – alarm lamp of malfunction of the power unit. For cars with the mechanical transmission the blinking of a signaling device speaks about emergence of malfunction in operation of the engine, at the same time power parameters of the engine worsen. Continuous burning of a lamp indicates engine stops the need.

For cars with the automatic transmission burning of a signaling device indicates malfunction or temperature increase in the transmission. In this case transfer the box selector to situation "P" or "N" and let's work to the engine idling within 10 min.

3 – alarm lamp of system of course stability (ESP). Burning of a signaling device testifies to malfunction of system at its activation. In this case the system is automatically disconnected. At shutdown of the ESP system manually the signaling device also lights up.

4 – the alarm lamp of malfunction of system of safety cushions and prednatyazhitel of seat belts lights up on 3 with, confirming operability of system. Burning of a signaling device during the movement indicates malfunction of system.

Prevention Operation of the car with faulty system of safety cushions is forbidden.

5 – the control lamp of inclusion of the left index of turn (in the form of an arrow with the light filter of green color) lights up the blinking light at inclusion of the left index of turn (synchronously with it). The blinking of a control lamp with the doubled frequency demonstrates burn-out of a lamp in any index of the left turn.

6 – the index of temperature of cooling liquid in the engine cooling system. The red zone warns about an engine overheat. If the arrow passed into a red zone, it is necessary to stop, allow to the engine to cool down and remove the overheat cause.

7 – a control lamp of an immobilizator of the engine (the system of protection of the car against stealing, prevents launch of the engine from incorrectly programmed key).

Prevention If at inclusion of ignition the control lamp does not die away, switch off ignition, take a key and repeat the procedure. If in repeated attempts it is not possible to launch the engine, address on service station where will help to eliminate malfunction.

8 – index of level of fuel of the electromagnetic principle of action. The red zone means the reserve rest of fuel.

Prevention Whenever possible avoid driving on the reserve rest of fuel. Work of an electrogasoline pump in the absence of continuous supply of fuel with hit in system of air will lead to a pump exit out of operation!

9 – the control lamp of inclusion of the right index of turn (in the form of an arrow with the light filter of green color) lights up the blinking light at inclusion of the right index of turn (synchronously with it). The blinking of a control lamp with the doubled frequency demonstrates burn-out of a lamp in any index of the right turn.

10 – the alarm lamp of the category of the rechargeable battery lights up at inclusion of ignition and dies away right after launch of the engine. Burning of a lamp or its luminescence dimly at the working engine indicates the lack of charging current caused by malfunction of the generator or regulator of tension, and also a weak tension (or break) a generator drive belt.

Prevention The movement of the car with the burning lamp is forbidden as, besides the full category of the rechargeable battery, it can indicate short circuit in charging chain which can lead to the fire.

11 – the control lamp of inclusion of dimensional light lights up at inclusion of dimensional light.

12 – the control lamp of inclusion of driving beam of headlights lights up at inclusion of driving beam of headlights.

13 – the alarm lamp of danger of frosting lights up orange light at the air temperature of the environment from +1 to +4 °C. At environment air temperature below +1 °C the signaling device lights up red light.

14 – the speedometer shows with what speed the car moves at present. The scale is graduated by from 0 to 210 km/h, the price of division of 10 km/h.

15 – the alarm lamp of open doors lights up if any door is not closed or closed not completely.

16 – the control lamp of inclusion of back fog lamps lights up at inclusion of back fog lamps.

17 – the alarm lamp of the minimum reserve of fuel constantly burns at the fuel rest in a tank about 6,5 l.

18 – alarm lamp of critical condition of the brake system. Lights up at inclusion of ignition and dies away after launch of the engine. Fire of a lamp at the working engine demonstrates falling of level of brake fluid below a tag of "MIN" on a tank of the main cylinder of the drive of the brake system.

Prevention Operation of the car with the faulty brake system is strictly forbidden.

20 – liquid-crystal display (fig. 1.8). The top line 1 for choice displays a course stock on fuel or hours, a line 2 – a daily run, a line 3 – the general run of the car.

Depending on a complete set can install the on-board computer on the car (see. "Route computer"), then functions of the on-board computer are brought to the liquid-crystal display.

22 – the alarm lamp of emergency pressure drop of oil lights up at inclusion of ignition and warns that pressure in the lubrication system of the engine is lower than norm.

At the working engine the burning alarm lamp and constant (during 5 c) the signal of a buzzer is pointed to insufficient pressure in the engine lubrication system.

Prevention Operation of the car with the faulty lubrication system can lead to serious breakages of the engine.

23 – the control lamp of the electroamplifier of steering lights up orange light at inclusion of ignition and dies away after launch of the engine.

Prevention Fire of a control lamp of the electroamplifier of steering at the working engine indicates malfunction of the electroamplifier which needs to be eliminated. Operation of the car with faulty steering is life-threatening.

24 – the control lamp of shutdown of the raising transfer lights up at inclusion of the OVERDRIVE mode.

25 – the control lamp of inclusion of candles of an incandescence (only for cars with the diesel engine) lights up at inclusion of candles of an incandescence.

26 – the control lamp of inclusion of forward fog lights lights up at inclusion of forward fog lights.

27 – an alarm lamp "CHECK the ENGINE". Lights up orange light at inclusion of ignition and dies away after launch of the engine.

Note Burning of an alarm lamp "CHECK the ENGINE" at the working engine confirms malfunction of a control system of the engine (system of injection of fuel). It does not mean that the engine has to be immediately stopped: the control system of the engine switches over to the emergency operation allowing to work to the engine in the conditions close to normal. However the cause of defect should try to be removed as soon as possible as long operation of the car with the burning lamp can lead to increase in fuel consumption, deterioration in traction characteristics of the car and to breakages of the engine.

28 – alarm lamp of malfunction of anti-blocking system of brakes (ABS). The lamp lights up orange light at inclusion of ignition and dies away after launch of the engine. Burning of a lamp at the working engine indicates malfunction of anti-blocking system of brakes.

Prevention In all other cases fire of an alarm lamp of anti-blocking system of brakes indicates emergence of malfunction which needs to be eliminated at specialized service stations of cars as in all cases braking happens without participation of anti-blocking system.
