The piston of the 1st cylinder is installed in the provision of VMT of a step of compression in order that at work, connected with removal of a belt of the drive of the camshaft, installation of phases of gas distribution was not broken. At violation of phases of gas distribution the engine will normally not work.

In the provision of VMT of a step of compression two special devices for fixing cranked and camshafts in a certain situation are necessary for exact installation of the piston of the 1st cylinder.

It will be required to you: special devices for fixing cranked and camshafts, a face key "on 10", cap keys or face heads "on 8" and "on 13", a key "on 18".

1. Take off a conditioner compressor drive belt (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering") and a belt of the drive of auxiliary units (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of auxiliary units").

2. Remove the generator (see. "Removal and installation of the generator").

3. Remove a broad tank (see. "Removal and installation of a broad tank").

4. Establish a reliable support under the engine.

5. Remove the right forward support of a suspension bracket of the power unit (see. "Replacement of the right support of a suspension bracket of the power unit").

6. Remove a pulley of the water pump, having turned out four bolts of its fastening (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller").

7. Turn out three bolts of fastening and remove an arm of the right support of a suspension bracket of the power unit.

8. Remove a forward cover of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism, having turned out eight bolts of its fastening (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller").

9. Include neutral transfer in the transmission.

10. Turn out the cap located in a forward part of the block of cylinders on the right (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller"), also establish in the opened opening the fixing core against the stop in a bent shaft. Carefully turn a bent shaft for a bolt of fastening of its pulley until a shaft stop the fixing core.

Note The fixing core represents a cylindrical detail about 65 mm long (step on diameters). A part of a core 10 mm long of small diameter (4 mm) represents the shaft entering a groove of a bent shaft. Other cylindrical part of bigger diameter (8 mm) serves directing in an opening of the block of cylinders.

11. Install the fixing plate in special grooves in a back part of camshafts. If adaptation managed to be installed without difficulties, the belt of the drive of a gas-distributing shaft is established correctly, the piston of the 1st cylinder is in VMT of a step of compression and initial installation of phases of gas distribution meets standard. If adaptation did not manage to be installed (gas distribution phases are displaced), take off a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism, install the fixing adaptation and correctly put on a belt (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and its tension roller").

12. Establish the removed details as it should be, the return to removal.
