Check a condition of brake shoes at each maintenance.

Brake shoes demand replacement at wear of slips (minimum admissible thickness of frictional overlays of 1,5 mm), fragile connection of slips with the basis, oiling of working surfaces, existence of deep furrows or chips.

Preventions Replace brake shoes of forward brake mechanisms only with a set – 4 pieces (on two with each party). Before replacement of brake shoes check the level of brake fluid in a tank of the main brake cylinder. 1. Remove the left forward wheel.

2. Having inserted the big screw-driver between an internal brake shoe and the piston of the working cylinder, drown the piston in the cylinder.

3. The screw-driver take the unbent ends of a spring clamp of an external block from support openings, as shown in a photo …	4. … also remove a clamp.

5. Having hooked the screw-driver of a cover of protective plugs of both guides of fingers …	6. … uncover.

7. Twist the lower directing finger and take it from an opening of a guide of blocks.

8. Similarly turn out and remove the second directing finger.

9. Remove a support together with an internal brake shoe from a guide of blocks, having tracked that did not stretch or the brake hose was not overwound …	10. … also remove an internal brake shoe, taking its spring clamp from a piston cavity.

11. Remove an external block, bringing it out of guide grooves.

Note Pay attention to marking of brake shoes. Get new blocks with the same marking.

12. Examine a spring clamp of an external block. Replace strongly deformed or corroded clamp.

Useful tips At each replacement of brake shoes surely check a condition of protective plastic plugs of the directing fingers and movement of a support concerning a guide of brake shoes. If movement is complicated, grease with jellied lubricant the directing support fingers. If protective plugs of the directing fingers are damaged or their covers are not fixed in openings of plugs, replace protective plugs.

13. Establish brake shoes of the forward brake mechanism as it should be, the return to removal. For an exception of a samootvorachivaniye of the directing fingers of a support grease their carving before installation by an anaerobic clamp of a carving.

14. Press several times a brake pedal to bring brake shoes to a disk.

15. Establish a wheel.

16. Similarly replace brake shoes of the brake mechanism of the right wheel.

17. Check and if necessary restore the level of brake fluid in a tank of the main brake cylinder.

Good advice Having replaced worn-out brake shoes new, you do not hurry to come out to brisk highways at once. It is not excluded that at the first intensive braking you will be unpleasantly struck with low efficiency of brakes though blocks put company.
