4.2.4. Check of level and a dolivka of brake fluid in a tank of hydraulic actuators of the brake system and switching off of coupling

It will be required to you: brake fluid, pure rag.

Useful tips
Type of brake fluid — DOT-4.
We recommend to check level before each departure and if necessary to add liquid in a tank. If it is necessary to add brake fluid in a tank quite often, find (see. "Check of tightness of a hydraulic actuator of brakes") also eliminate malfunction (see section 9 "Brake system").
When replacing brake fluid in system remember or write down brand of liquid which will be filled in that at a dolivka to use the same brand.

The tank is installed on the main cylinder of a brake on the left side of a motor compartment at a front board.

Prevention
Observe precautionary measures during the work with brake fluid: it is toxic.

Useful tips
In the future not to subject itself to contingencies on repair of the brake system, and even all car in general, in due time replace brake fluid fresh. It is very hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from air that, besides emergence of corrosion of details of the brake system, lowers temperature of boiling of the liquid, and it can lead to refusal of brakes at frequent intensive braking.
Do not reuse the liquid merged from system: it is polluted, saturated air and moisture.
Hit of brake fluid on wires, the plastic or painted details of a body can cause their damage therefore when filling always enclose pure rags. At hit of liquid on these details at once wipe them with a pure rag.

1. Check the level of brake fluid in a tank. It has to be between the tags of "MIN" and "MAX" applied on the tank case.
2. For a dolivka of brake fluid in a tank turn off a tank stopper …

Prevention
Gradual lowering of the level of brake fluid in the absence of leaks indicates, most likely, the need replacements of brake shoes. Check a condition of brake shoes (see. "Check of degree of wear of brake shoes, disks and drums"). Untimely replacement of blocks leads to expensive repair (replacement of brake disks, drums, supports)!

3. … also add brake fluid to a tag of "MAX".
4. Then wrap a tank stopper, wipe the spilled liquid a pure rag.
