10.3.1. Arrangement of safety locks, fusible inserts and relay and their replacement

The majority of power-supply circuits of electric equipment of the car is protected by fuses. Headlights, electric motors of fans, the fuel pump and other powerful consumers are connected via the relay. Safety locks and the relay are installed in assembly blocks which are in interior of the car behind a ware box and in podkapotny space on the left side near the rechargeable battery.

The majority of safety locks is installed in the assembly block of safety locks and the relay in the interior of the car (fig. 10.1) located under the dashboard on the right side. Purpose of safety locks and the relay is given in tab. 10.1 and 10.2.

Besides, safety locks and the relay are located in the assembly block installed in podkapotny space. In tab. 10.3 and 10.4 purpose of these safety locks and the relay is specified, but on different modifications of cars some chains specified in tables can be absent.

Note
On a back part of a ware box the scheme of an arrangement of safety locks and the relay is put.

For receiving access to the assembly block located in interior of the car execute the following.
1. Open a ware box …
2. … having wrung out fingers of a wall and having removed on both sides course limiters, cast away a ware box.
3. Before replacing the fused safety lock, find out the reason of its burn-out and eliminate it. When troubleshooting see the chains specified in tab. 10.1 which are protected by this safety lock.

Prevention
Do not replace safety locks with the crossing points or safety locks calculated on other current and also self-made crossing points — it can lead to damage of electric devices and even to the fire.

4. Take the replaced safety lock by means of tweezers.
5. For replacement of a safety lock use a spare safety lock of the same face value (and colors).
6. In need of replacement take the relay, shaking it here and there.
7. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal.

For receiving access to the assembly block located in podkapotny space execute the following.
It will be required to you: a key "on 8", the screw-driver with a flat edge.
1. Remove a clamping level of the rechargeable battery (see. "Removal and installation of the rechargeable battery").
2. Wring out the screw-driver a clamp …
3. … also uncover the block of safety locks.
4. Turn off two nuts of fastening …
5. … also remove a safety lock.

Note
For descriptive reasons the accumulator shelf is removed.

6. Establish a new safety lock as it should be, the return to removal.
Also in podkapotny space the relay block fixed on a clamping level of the rechargeable battery is located.

For replacement of the relay execute the following operations.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out two clamps located on each side covers …
3. … also uncover.
4. Take the faulty relay.
5. Install the new relay and uncovered as it should be, the return to removal.
